An LSU-led research team is developing a new class of antibiotics capable of bypassing the defenses of drug-resistant bacteria, which otherwise make it difficult to cure chronic infections.


On Friday, February 21, the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business will host AI in Action: Leading in Louisiana Industries; a symposium dedicated to exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) is driving innovation in critical sectors that define Louisiana's economy.


A $9.575 million gift from the William A. Brookshire Foundation will establish the William A. Brookshire ROTC Scholarship, support the new LSU Construction & Advanced Manufacturing Building, and strengthen the LSU College of Engineering's S&B Engineers and Constructors Scholarship, LSU's Future Scholars Program and the William A. Brookshire Veterans Law Clinic.


The LSU Provost's Fund for Innovation in Research has invested $1.8 million in seed funding for interdisciplinary research and creative works to improve lives in Louisiana and around the world. This is the third year of Provost's Fund investment, an internal grant program that supports the university's fierce commitment to Scholarship First, drive LSU's national prominence as a top research university, and increase the competitiveness of LSU scholars in their pursuit of federal and extramural funding.


LSU has named Arne Flaten the dean of the College of Art & Design, effective July 1, pending approval by the LSU Board of Supervisors.


51Âþ»­ (LSU) has been awarded a $220,871 grant from the National Park Service's Save America's Treasures program to conserve and protect the historic LSU Campus Mounds--two ancient, nationally significant archaeological landmarks that date back at least 6,000 years.


Dr. Miele to lead LSU to become the State's only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center.
