LSU top 100 in patents

LSU climbed to No. 56 in the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) 2023 Top 100 ranking for U.S. utility patents granted to universities, a jump from the No. 75 ranking in 2022, marking its highest placement in history. 

The LSU Department of Chemistry is one of the top contributors to the University’s patent portfolio.
