CAEP Accreditation

The Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education is the center of teacher education programs at LSU. Teacher education programs have been nationally accredited since 1954. The School of Education is accredited at the initial and advanced-licensure level by CAEP, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. National recognition was earned by demonstrating excellence in the areas of content and pedagogy, clinical experiences, selectivity, program impact, and capacity for continuous improvement. The most recent accreditation through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) was approved in 2020 and continues through spring 2027. 

CAEP Accountability Measures

CAEP (Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation) requires that providers document results of monitoring using four Accountability Measures. Measures are used to provide information to the public on program impact and outcomes. Performance and outcomes of the LSU鈥檚 educator preparation program completers are measured and reported annually. Data reflect the most recent figures released by the Louisiana Board of Regents.
