These scholarships are outside of LSU and College of Human Sciences & Education scholarships. LSU Financial Aid & Scholarships also maintains a list of opportunities. These scholarships are not awarded or administered by LSU. Any questions about these funds should be directed to the sponsoring organization.

The Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education Tuition Program for Teachers is a competitive program that funds selected teachers to enroll in courses at regionally accredited colleges or universities in Louisiana. Chosen teachers into the program will have their tuition (excluding all other fees) for a single course paid directly to the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance by the Louisiana Department of Education.

Golden Key is an academic honor society that is by invitation only for the top 15% of university sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students. This society has awarded over 12.5 million dollars in scholarships and awards. They also offer academic programs, leadership opportunities, and service projects. To apply for admittance, you must complete the form online. You will then be prompted to send your transcript.

The LSU Board of Supervisors created the Pinkie Gordon Lane Graduate School Tuition Awards program to increase the cultural engagement of the graduate student body. The Tuition Award is a two-year award for incoming graduate students that provides the recipient with an exemption for tuition and the non-resident fee, if applicable. The recipient will still be responsible for other university fees. Students do not apply directly to the Graduate School for this award. Departments submit nominations of incoming graduate students who meet the eligibility criteria.

The Louisiana Classroom Teacher Enrollment Program (CTEP), which, if several stipulations are met, allows classroom teachers to attend Louisiana’s public colleges and universities tuition-free (the teacher must pay all other fees) on a space-available basis. It requires that classroom teachers participating in CTEP during any school year must practice as teachers in Louisiana's elementary or secondary schools for at least the subsequent school year.

Each year, LAECA has up to $3,600.00 in scholarships and mini-grants available to members.

The Geaux Teach scholarship program was established to provide scholarships to students enrolled in teacher preparation programs or approved by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) at postsecondary education institutions within the state.

Eligible students are United States citizens and, if required, registered with the Selective Service; a Louisiana resident for at least two years before July 1, immediately preceding the academic year of enrollment; and have at least a 2.50 cumulative college GPA.

For childcare employees working toward an approved bachelor’s degree, scholarships will pay for tuition only. The scholarship recipient will be responsible for all fees and required textbooks.

Scholarships are open to Louisiana residents currently enrolled in a Practitioner Teacher Alternative Certificate Program approved by the Louisiana Department of Education. Individuals must pursue Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education certification and have completed at least half of the required Certification Program course hours.

Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an eligible program maintain a 3.25 GPA and commit to teaching in a high-need field at a low-income school for at least four years within eight years of completing the program for which the grant was awarded.
